A small stage with a wide creative circle

Club Cumming follows the community around the Lower East Side venue founded by Alan Cumming. The six-episode docuseries brings emerging performers and established artists into the same setting, connecting stage ambitions with relationships and chosen family. The club provides a recurring home for stories that extend beyond a single performance.

The opening episode introduces the artists through the cabaret-themed venue. Later chapters follow preparations, collaborations and personal decisions among its regulars. This makes the programme a backstage portrait of a creative community as well as a series about the entertainment presented to an audience.

Making a show and finding a voice

The episode guide includes a drag-king competition and a new show involving Daphne, Michelle and Cunning. Another chapter follows Michelle getting help with a headdress from Brini and working on confidence at the microphone with comedian Jake. The practical work of preparing a performance becomes part of the story.

Collaboration is a recurring theme. The performers build a kissing booth, develop shows and discuss what comes next. These shared projects connect the club’s public identity with the smaller acts of help and encouragement that take place around a stage.

Personal decisions within a chosen family

A benefit for a neighbourhood dog rescue brings the community together across two episodes. At the same time, Michelle deals with family matters and Daphne considers plans involving Iceland. The series sets collective events alongside decisions that could change the relationships within the club.

The final episode gathers the performers to discuss their futures, with a farewell performance giving those questions a particular emotional setting. The series is suited to viewers interested in the life around a venue: what sustains a creative space, how people support one another and what happens when an individual’s plans begin to move elsewhere.
