A prince’s campaign for power
Knut: The Viking Emperor follows Knut the Great from a young Viking prince into the struggle for the English throne. The series presents military campaigns, tactical decisions and alliances as connected parts of his ascent. Its larger story concerns the formation of a maritime realm linking Nordic and Anglo-Saxon lands.
The four-episode guide begins with The Birth of a Viking Warrior and The Revenge of a Landless King. The early chapters move from the ambition to conquer England into a renewed campaign, with Edmund Ironside emerging as an opponent. Knut’s authority is shown as something contested through war and political calculation.
