Citizens confront a powerful scientific public figure
Professeur Raoult vs le gang des Cerises follows six citizens challenging Didier Raoult during the COVID-19 pandemic. The group includes his daughter. Directed by Caroline Benarrosh, the four-part documentary turns a dispute over scientific authority into a story about family, activism and the risks of speaking publicly against an influential figure.
The opening chapter, Le Druide, returns to 2020 and the promotion of hydroxychloroquine. The film follows people questioning Raoult's claims, with a personal revelation changing the group's position. The programme concerns that dispute and its consequences; its account of a promoted treatment is not an endorsement of the treatment itself.
