Investigators enter an encrypted criminal network
The Narco Hack follows European cybercrime specialists trying to infiltrate Sky ECC, an encrypted messaging system used by organised-crime networks. The three-part documentary treats access to those communications as a major investigative turning point: a space believed to be secure becomes a source of information for police.
Unhackable introduces the technical and operational challenge. Under Surveillance follows what happens after investigators gain access, including intelligence concerning large drug shipments, kidnapping, torture and murder-for-hire plots. One storyline concerns authorities using that information to intervene while a crime is taking place.
